Remote maintenance tool for DACs


Since the remote maintenance tool is based on an ancient yet heise UltraVNC server can handle almost any current client, what I've tinkered own.

The helper must be done with the package do the following:

  1. extract
  2. In the config.txt adjust the parameters IP, PORT and the name.
  3. then merge the files into one (The order is important).
    • Windows comes with the copy / b 7zS.sfx + + copy.txt release.7z RemoteTool.exe
    • with Linux cat config.txt 7zS.sfx release.7z> RemoteTool.exe
  4. Already completed

Now starts the helper a VNC client, I recommend Tightvnc , and turns him into "listening mode".

Now the Helping send the person seeking assistance the exe, this they must start and then just click "Yes" to a VNC connection is made.

    I noticed today that there is still a small problem. Namely, that the server configuration dialog starts automatically because no password was given. But I am tuned to get the problem under control.
