MFC-210C prints with an empty ink cartridges

At first I thought yes, my printer is totally over, but a friendly man Brother support has advised me that except to scan and send faxes without having at least 20% filled ink cartridges is nothing on the MFC-210C. So, faxes, print, copy, possibly because the device was designed.

But I am not a good engineer would be if I believed the so-easy. A bit of tinkering and you no longer complains about the part that is all the color and prints.

Here are the instructions with bright and in color: Please read it until the very end before you recreate anfangt.
First If you want to defeat your enemy you must know him.

Yellow cartridge with label

Here you can see very nicely how the designers measure the level of the cartridges.

The interesting part of the test design

The Entfant this terrible plastic sleeve inside the ink tank. It interrupts the light barrier if there is enough ink.

Second If he knows you need weapons (cardboard, scissors and tape)
What is needed first

before

What is needed first after

after

What it takes second
Tape and scissors are not forgotten.

Third He defeated

From the little cardboard cut you out with the help of scissors approximately 3x13mm pieces and secured with tape them so that it looks wiefolgt at the end. Although this is a bit fiddly but you know what it's done.
Yellow cartridge ready

It should be noted:

  • This can not simply take a permanent marker to paint over it, I've tested. Did not work!
  • The cardboard pieces may be moving up too thick may damage the unit while you use the cartridges. If the packaging had to get me for it, I have a finger nail, only the top layer solution and glued.
  • The cardboard pieces that have nipples on one side of the cartridge cover completely, so the picture of the finished cartridge completely from top to bottom and from left to right.
  • I have absolutely no idea whether it is harmful for the device, if one uses manipulated more or less empty ink cartridges so and prints.
